German Shopping Phrase: "Was kostet das?"

"Was kostet das?" means "How much does this cost?" and is the basic way to ask for a price while shopping in German. For plural items, it becomes "Was kosten die?" (How much do they cost?). When you want to try something on, "Kann ich das anprobieren?" (Can I try this on?) is also commonly used.
