"¿Cuánto cuesta?" means "How much does it cost?" and is the basic way to ask for a price while shopping in Spanish. The verb form changes for plural items: "¿Cuánto cuestan?" (How much do they cost?). When you want to try something on, "¿Puedo probármelo?" (Can I try it on?) is also commonly used.
