A Spanish Phrase for Asking About Someone's Job: "¿A qué te dedicas?"
"¿A qué te dedicas?" means "What do you do for a living?" and it's the basic Spanish expression used to ask about someone's occupation. It's often used in self-introductions and when meeting someone for the first time. To answer, you use the form "Soy ~" (I am a ~), as in "Soy cocinero" (I'm a chef). You can keep the conversation going by reacting to their answer with something like "¡Qué interesante!" (How interesting!).
