Spanish Thank-You Reply: "De nada"

"De nada" is a Spanish phrase meaning "You're welcome," the standard reply when someone thanks you. It literally translates to "It's nothing." A more casual alternative, "No hay de qué" (Don't mention it), is also common. It works in almost any setting, from friends to shopkeepers.

Examples

Gracias por tu ayuda. / De nada.

"Thanks for your help." / "You're welcome." (a common thank-you and reply pair)

No hay de qué.

"Don't mention it." (a slightly more casual alternative to "De nada")

Muchas gracias.

"Thank you so much." (an emphasized form of "gracias" - "De nada" works as the reply)
